President's Message
by Patrick Herl

Greetings.  It is with great pleasure and an honor for me to serve as President of the Central Ohio section of ASHE for the next year.  Being a board member over the past four years has provided me a fantastic opportunity to be involved with a nationally recognized organization making contributions to the transportation industry..

Our local section has around 200 members consisting of Public Sector, Contractors, Material Suppliers and Consulting Engineers.  Being a member, attending our events, volunteering for a committee or serving on the board is a great way to develop relationships, network with other colleagues and build friendships that will span a career and last a lifetime.  For me the most rewarding part about being involved with ASHE is that I have gained many valuable relationships and friendships within the central Ohio Civil Engineering and transportation community.

Finally, I want to thank Tom Bolte, our immediate past President for his efforts and leadership.  I am looking forward to the upcoming year and I welcome any ideas or suggestions from you, our members, as to how we can ensure another successful year.
